To start with an Organic program, Number 1 use the best. The best compost in the Houston Area is Natures Way's 3/8" leaf mold compost. It is called the black gold of the industry. The products we use below are what we add to the yard depending on how sterile your lawn is. We always use Micro Life when we blow in the compost. Keep it simple and do the basics first and we will address issues as they come up. When you throw too many things at your lawn too fast you won't know how you are achieving a better lawn. The compost and Micro Life is the beginning. For first time yard applications, we use a mixed blend which is Compost, MicroLife, and Greensand. We call this our custom mix. You get all the products and only one application charge.
COMPOST -The key to beginning any organic program. First stop using Chemicals. Then get the compost in your yard. If you are buying compost in bags and the bags don't have holes in it the biology will be dead. We use Natures Way Leaf Mold Compost which is real compost. 100% of our compost jobs are done with Natures Way Compost. GREEN SAND - A great product at a common sense price. Get this directly from Natures Way. They have it in 10 or 20 lb bags. This is loaded with minerals to thicken up your grass. It's like the vitamins we take for ourselves. The results will surprise you. HUMATES - We call this compost in a bag. Makes all of the things happen in your soil and loosens clay. This is put down with a broadcast spreader at 10 lbs. per 1000 Sq. Ft. This contains trace minerals and is sometimes called Compost in a bag. MOLASSES - Useful as a soil amendment or a foliar spray to feed and stimulate microorganisms. A great product to boost carbon. All Life needs carbon which is sugar. Molasses is sticky and stays on leafs longer. Available in Granular or liquid. A great item to add when you want the product to stay a while. MICOLIFE (6-2-4) - All Organic Biological Fertilizer. Will not burn while it warms the soil with biological activity. We use this all the time! The perfect adder to compost. MICROLIFE ULTIMATE - The best organic for blooming plants. Eight years in making. This is a great top dressing but good for planting beds, container growing, flowers. It is a little high priced but worth it for flower beds. NEEM Oil - A safe and effective pest control that works as a repellent, anti-feedant and fungicide. We use this product on most tree jobs. OCEAN HARVEST - Wonderful product and has Fish Emulsion and adds energy to leafs, soil, and all other. Same as Super Sea Weed but adds fish emulsion. It has a fish smell but mixed with water it goes away quick. ORANGE OIL - Safe and effective pest control by dissolving the exoskeleton of shelled insects. It also acts as a repellant to insects. Very easy to use to control fire ants, aphids, and fleas. Great product and smells very good after a spray. Spray your yard and the ants are gone the next day. When you have product left over just pour it back into its original container. You have no waste. Team Organics Texas is a service company and not a retailer of products. No pre-mixing required - set metering dial at the number 4 setting. Put the product you want in the plastic container then spray the area you want to spray to get it wet but not to water the soil. There are many settings on this but I beg you to start every thing at a beginning level. There are more measurements than you want on this sprayer. The reason I want you to use this as the setting of 4 teaspoons is just about right for 2 oz. per gallon as the product is recommended. When you are through spraying just pour the product back into the original container and you have nothing wasted. If you are spraying for Ants spray the complete yard. If you have large ant beds just pull the spray head off the tip and this will produce a stream to soak the bed. The next day the ants will be gone and your yard smells like oranges. When you're through spraying, I always recommend that you run some clear water through the sprayer to clear any product in the head.
